The Power of the Model

I currently have a mass media class that focuses on media stereotypes. To be honest, I had no idea what the class would be about, I just registered to that class because I am interested in media communications so it was part of my upper class requirements so I said, BINGO! Well, let me tell you that it is a very very interesting class. It's one of those classes that actually leaves you thinking as you walk out of the door, unless your are dying of hunger and all you are thinking about as you walk out the door is food. This past week we hit the subject of how women and femininity are represented. What I have learned about this class is that the media does not make us think the way we do. Yes, it does help to create a climate and helps in regards to what we think about but, not how we think about it. Therefore, when it comes to skinny models, we know that they have been blamed for girls wanting to be skinny. It is not the models who should be blamed but the atmosphere the girls have grown up in. Ignorant people are most likely to be the ones to be influenced by the media. Girls who do not know better, girls who have not been thought what's good and/or what's right are the ones who make wrong decisions. Another influential activity is smoking. I personally like looking at photos of smokers but, it is something that doesn't appeal to me. I don't like the taste or smell of cigarettes and when it comes to "looks", I do admire a well fit body. I do not find a stick-skinny girl healthy nor I wish I looked like that. We see it everywhere but, at the end of the day, someone who knows better and knows what is the best should know that whatever you see on tv or on advertisements is just for entertainment and most of the times, it is not what it seems. So little girls who are easily influenced should be informed by their parents and family what is good for them. My question is, why most of the time, are kids being influenced by bad and/or wrong things and not by what is good for them?

Why Men Like Bitches

I started reading this very interesting book about

how, as a woman, learn how to treat yourself when

you deal with men. It's not your typical what you

should do to make a man fall in love with you. That's

the reason why I really liked the book because it makes

suggestions of how to put yourself before the person.

According to the book there's The Good Lady and The Bitch.

But being considered a Bitch does not mean you're stuck

up and you take advantage of men. The Bitch is a woman who

knows how to take control of herself and emotions, the woman

that puts her own interests first before the man.

I'm reading the book in spanish but I know there's an english

version. I wasn't able to find it in english, tho. I could really

see this book being made into a movie, that would be really

interesting.

Us women need to start loving who we are. Any person actually,

learn to feel confident and good of who we are and everything will

be much easier. If one person cannot see the great value you have

as a human being then that person is definitely not the person who

you want to be with. It is hard to let go of people when you believe

there's a hope but once they've lost respect for you it'll never come back.

Don't let people bring out the worst in you.

My First Week

This week is my first week in the new house.

Is a little more crowded than the other house

but I forgive the house because it has a pool and

it's still in the same neighborhood as the previous one.

It has also been my first week of exercise! Which

I'm amazingly proud of because the last time I

frequently exercised was last summer because of my

PE lessons at school. But I'm tired of

being a lazy bum

so I decided to dedicate myself to walking for an hour

5 days a week until I get in good shape and I can start

running.

I've always had a thing for photos of models smoking.

I am totally digging them!!

27 days into the year.

It's unbelievable! Its been 27 days into the year.
A month since my boyfriend came and 2 weeks
since he left. AND 3 weeks until school starts again.
Days go by so fast and specially when one is very busy.
BUSY BUSY BUSY!

First of all school was over and I was working working.
Trying to get all my family Xmas presents etc etc.
Then my boyfriend came, I spent as much time as I could with
him because I still had to go to work too. They were the fastest
2 weeks of my life, in a blink of an eye he was gone. :(
And he left and I was left dealing with all the uni admissions
aftermath! And it still going on!

So now what I've got left is moving to a new house!
So many things to do. So little time that it leaves for
myself.

On a brighter side, I've discovered St. Vincent, a band
by Annie Clark. I really like her music its very different
and I totally love her voice. She debuted her new album
in May I hope to hear some new stuff from her soon.
I currently cant take my ears off her song Actor Out of Work.

I LOST MY RAYBANS!!!

they were my favorite possession.

How? Where? When did I lose them?

No idea! I think last week or so. I have to be

like the clumsiest person EVER, I forget everything and

I leave everything everywhere and God knows

what else.

I'll sure buy another pair after the holidays.

look how happy I was because of them...

or maybe it was the lollipop? :)

Anyways, on another note.

I've heard that on 2012 a new version of

the movie Yellow Submarine would be coming out.

Rumors say that Rob Pattinson might be playing

as John Lennon. Is that possible? I like Rob, but I

don't think he would make a good John Lennon. I

don't know. We might be surprised again as most

people were when he became Edward Cullen.

What do you people think??

was going. I was avoiding it. Because I know

that it would be painful that it airs until

Nov of 2010 :(

Well. NO. not really.

I did spend most of yesterday trying

to make my blog look a little prettier.

I hope that, that way I can induce myself

One more week left of the school term

CANT WAIT for it to be over.

I'm so through of school.

I have astronomy exam today.

Which is a PAIN in the ass. ugh.

I didnt study at all. woo.

We know I'll be passing the exam. ha.

I also have my design exam today

but its open book. It'll take me ages.

But I'll get through with it.

I've been really really lazy lately and even though I check my blog
every day I'm just really lazy to make a new post. I just like checking
my daily bloggers and checking my emails etc. jajaj Which is terrible
from my part but now that off from school I'll try my best to publish
more and better blogs :)

I haven't done much, I've been working on a little surprise
for my boyfriend for when he gets here! Which is in ONE WEEK!
I asked for next Sunday the 21st off from work and I really
really hope I get it because I want to be the one picking up my
boyfriend from the airport. jaja The little surprise is something
really small but its cheesy and cute and I'm pretty sure he's
going to love it!

For now thats it, this picture below is from a few weeks back.
It has a terrible quality jajaja it was taken with my macbook and from
far away jaja it was for my boyfriend so he could see my outfit
of the day. jaja

I really need a new camara :(

End of Term

I'm at a very stressing time of the semester. FINALS! I should be studying right now, but I can't concentrate. I have so many things in mind, worries, school, work, and I've lost my inspiration for anything.

This weekend I worked it all, friday, saturday and sunday. Fortunately, friday I worked in the morning and I had the opportunity to go party a bit.

Thats what I wore and even tho I felt a bit awkward at the beginning for what I was wearing in the end i really liked it a lot! I'm not really good at this dressing up stuff and I'm trying to learn and I'm experimenting. I've got to get some credit!

Yesterday was a typical monday, school in the morning and I spent the rest of the day watching tv, and doing homework. At midnight I started working on a little surprise for my boyfriend because it was his birthday. I wont be able to give him his actual birthday present until he comes for the holidays. I'm super excited because its only two weeks and a half and he's home again!

YES! God, I'm so poor. I went shopping yesterday after I long time. I had been keeping myself away from the stores because I'm bankrupt! And i can't afford anything! So, a month ago I received a gift card for my birthday and i finally found the time to go. There was so many things I wanted to get, and its a shame I had to leave some things behind like a checkered long shirt/dress. I wanted to take it so bad and its more of a shame because everything is SO cheap at F21! That's just an idea of how poor I am. jaja

Well too bad I guess it'll be till next time!

Inspiration

So yesterday i spent the whole evening net browsing,

looking for interesting people on the web. I found

several vintage online stores and some very artistic

people. I wish i had the talent those people have, it

would be wonderful. I have to find my talent, haven't

found it yet, because i put more interest in other

unimportant things than my own future.

My inspiration for the weekend would be

Marcelina amelia a very very beautiful girl

from Poland with a great talent in art! She

has awesome photos, paintings and illustrations!

Who wouldn't like to be her.
